The James E. Shepard Sertoma Club located in Durham, North Carolina is always looking for infusion of new blood and a few good enthusiastic members.  Over the last few years our membership has hovered around 55 to 65 members. As a member of our local club and Sertoma International, YOU WILL BELONG to a group of more than 20,000 men and women who believe that we have an obligation and an ability to make a difference in our communities.

Even though we have a lot of fun in our club, we need members who want to work, learn, and lead us towards achieving our ultimate goals. This includes paying quarterly dues in a timely fashion; committee work; attending and participating in monthly meetings; and full participation in all fund raising annual projects.

You Belong!
Membership is non-exclusive – not limited by gender, culture, age, race or faith.  Anyone willing to work and remain financial can submit their name for consideration by the membership committee and the board of trustees of the James E. Shepard Sertoma club.  Once the application below is submitted for consideration it will be reviewed in a timely manner with communication returned as soon as possible. Our boards of trustees meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the John Avery Boys & Girls club and our regular meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the NC Mutual Life Insurance building. 

Costs

There is an initial joining fee of $25.00.  This fee is to cover administrative costs. As of July 1, 2007, membership dues are $250.00 annually and usually paid in $62.50 quarterly installments. Dues are paid in advance and based on our fiscal year those quarterly payments are due by July 1, October 1, January 1, and April 1 of each year.
